This year was the first year we attended our company's Christmas Party; I was on the fence at first but when they releases the theme I knew we had to go, "The Roaring 20s!"
The dance was being hosted at the Hilton Americas in Downtown Houston so Cody & I reserved a room to get ready in...
We traveled to Biloxi, MS to the fabulous Beau Rivage Resort & Casino to celebrate our dear friend, Kara, turning 30. It was Cody & My's first time to the Magnolia State and even though we didn't travel far from the Casino, we enjoyed it and hope to go back to explore some more. Highlights: Playing Roadtrip games, Our hotel room's view, The Sex in the City Slot Machine, Kara's Birthday dinner & cake at Coast Restaurant, Playing Roulette, the art on the Hard Rock's wall, & Cody testing Kara's breast pump!
Hiccups: No one asked me to "blow on their dice" Miles Traveled: 477 Have you ever watched a TV show and said, "I want to be on that show!" or "How do you get picked to be on there?!" Ya, us too, so when Cody & I were picked to be on the DIY Network's television show, "Yard Crashers," we got our answer! We filmed on November 21st & 22nd, 2013 {Yes, it really is only two days} and it was a truly amazing adventure that we will remember forever. For those that aren't familiar with the show, the premise is, you're minding your own business at your local home improvement store when the host of the show {who is also a licensed contractor} approaches you and probes you for information about your backyard. If he deems you appropriate, they follow you home and hook you up with a baller backyard! For Christmas this year our neighborhood held its first contest for, “Best Christmas Decorations.” No, we didn’t win and no, I don’t know who did, but I bet it was someone on the HOA committee… Suburb politics, try making me put my trashcans up now...
We knew we wanted to put candy canes in our yard but they were too expensive to buy in the masses so we decided to make them instead; Hence this DiY post.
Some people take vacations to relax, catch up on their reading, sleep in & wake up late... We are NOT those people. We like to immerse ourselves in the culture, go until we drop, & jam pack as much site seeings as possible, and boy does NYC have some sites to see! Check out how we saw "everything" in just F O U R D A Y S ! *Itinerary included*
